“Hiking the John Muir Trail-A Journey into the Wilderness”
A pictorial journey of a 210-mile backpack trip on the John Muir Trail.The trip starts in Yosemite Valley and travels south over 10 mountain passes through the Ansel Adams Wilderness, John Muir Wilderness, Kings Canyon National Park, Sequoia National Park, and ends on top of Mt. Whitney, the tallest mountain in the contiguous United States.Along the way we’ll learn about the history of the trail, and the plants and animals one can expect to encounter along the way.
Dan Schroeder has backpacked hundreds of miles in the Central Sierra Nevada wilderness. Recently, he and his son hiked the 210-mile John Muir Trail from Yosemite Valley to the top of Mt. Whitney.
