If the irresistible aroma of grilled gyros, sizzling calamari, and sweet honey-drenched baklava drifts through the air the weekend of September 5–7, you’ll know why: The 66th Annual St. Basil’s Greek Food Festival is back — and it's bigger, bolder, and more flavorful than ever.

Held on the picturesque grounds of St. Basil’s Greek Orthodox Church at 920 W. March Lane, this beloved three-day celebration is a delicious deep-dive into Greek culture — and one of the longest-running festivals in the Central Valley.

Whether you’re a longtime fan or a first-time festival-goer, prepare for a sensory overload of authentic cuisine, lively music, cultural traditions, family fun, and community spirit.

A Taste of Greece in the Heart of Stockton

Food is the beating heart of this annual tradition, and this year’s menu is packed with handcrafted Greek delicacies prepared with love by parishioners and volunteers using recipes passed down through generations.

Crowd favorites like Loukoumades (crispy dough puffs soaked in honey), Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), Pastitsio (Greek lasagna), and Gyros are just the beginning. From the sizzling grills to the fragrant ovens, every corner of the festival is bursting with flavor.

Those with a sweet tooth will find themselves in dessert heaven, with a spread of homemade Greek pastries including Baklava, Karidopita (walnut cake), and Koulourakia (butter cookies). Many of these delights are available to take home — if you can resist eating them on the spot.

Music, Marketplace, and Family Fun

The festival isn’t just about the food — it’s a full-on cultural experience. Live Greek music fills the air throughout the weekend with performances by Kymata, the Bay Area’s premier Greek band, setting the rhythm for dancing and good cheer.

Kids can enjoy their own slice of the celebration in the Kid’s Zone, complete with games and activities, while adults browse the Greek Marketplace for handcrafted goods, specialty foods, and souvenirs.

Keeping Cool While the Party Heats Up

Even with Stockton’s warm September sun, festivalgoers will stay comfortable thanks to a thoughtful layout that includes both indoor and outdoor seating, shade cloths, and misting stations. Whether you're dining under the pavilion or relaxing inside the community hall, it's the coolest place to be — literally and figuratively.
